And so continues the MBA studying

A few pieces of good news...

The MBA studying is going relatively well. I'm getting better at the questions so I'm not as worried anymore. I'm thinking of sitting down in the next week for a full four-hour practice test to see what my approximate score is now and then study based on my strengths & weaknesses. It'll give me a point of reference when moving forward.

I attended this event called the QS MBA Tour or something at the Toronto Metro Convention Centre last weekend and it was pretty informative. It pretty much solidified where I wanted to apply, and rather than discourage me from the process of applying, I now feel more confident in my "qualifications" and my chances of getting in. That's always a positive/reassuring feeling.

That's about it really. I just wish I studied more during the strike. It's hard to fit in study time with school, internships, work, babysitting, etc. Oh well. I'll manage. I'm going to take the test at the end of June so I've got a full month to study all day, every day once school is over at the end of May.

I only have to apply to schools from December onwards anyway. So even if I do poorly for whatever reason, I have time to re-do it around October or November.

I hope the first 4-hour test isn't overly excrutiating...

I wrote the GRE back in October, which is also a 4-hour test (though, I would assume, significantly different). Anyway, my point is that it goes by quick.

Good luck with studying/dodging your mom's marriage-related inquiries.

Hey!

How did the test go? Do you get an instantaneous score or does someone have to mark the test?

Thanks. I'm sure I'll need all the help I can get!

I went to the MBA convention during my first year as well, but I had no idea what I wanted to get into. I'm hoping that I'll find out after graduating. I'm glad that you're getting prepared already. Good luck with your test!

Hey Sindy,

Not sure if you are still interested in pursuing an MBA but if so, there is an info session at schulich on March 24, w hich i plan to attend. This may be helpful, if you wanted to get more info :)

Oh, I assumed I'd get an email or something when you replied..

Anyway, the test went as I expected. You get your score instantly for the verbal + quantitative section, but you have to wait a few weeks for someone to mark the essay section. Not too bad.

Good luck to Sindy + Annika too! You three are smart ladies, so you'll all do wonderfully, I'm sure.
